Born to Shine – a plum cat eye flash that works with light

With Born to Shine, the final effect depends on more than just the color. The magnetic particles react to the magnet, so before curing, you can reposition them and decide where the characteristic reflection will appear.

You can concentrate the particles more tightly to create a bold cat eye, or spread them out more subtly. There's also a flash effect, which is particularly striking in intense light. This prevents the manicure from looking flat – the plum base, magnetic glow, and shimmering particles combine to create a multi-dimensional effect that changes with every movement of the hand.

How to work with a magnet from Born to Shine?

There's no single right way to achieve a cat eye—that's where the greatest potential lies. After applying an uncured layer of Born to Shine, hold the magnet up to your nail and watch the particles move. By changing its position and direction, you can gradually build up your chosen reflection.

Want a sharp, luminous line? Focus the particles in the desired spot. Prefer a more diffused glow? Work the magnet so the light spreads softly across a larger area of ​​the nail plate. Once the effect is exactly as you want, cure the polish in the lamp.

 

Application tips 

Wash and disinfect your hands and the client's. Put on gloves. Assess the condition of the client's hands and nails to ensure there are no contraindications to the procedure.

  1. Push back the cuticles with a hoof or stick and work them with cutters.
  2. Use a buffer to thoroughly matt the plate.
  3. Remove dust with a soft brush.
  4. Using a dust-free cotton swab and Cleaner No. 1, thoroughly degrease the plate.
  5. Apply the appropriate primer – Acid Free Primer or Acid Primer.
  6. Apply a thin layer of your chosen base and cure it for 30 seconds in the MultiLed lamp.
  7. Apply a second, thicker coat of base coat to gently smooth or build up the nail, if necessary. You can smooth the base coat with a thin brush, such as Master Nail Art 007, or turn your hand to use gravity to shape the upper arch of the nail. Cure the design again. Due to the thicker layer, you can extend the curing time to 60 seconds in a MultiLed lamp.
  8. Apply a thin layer of Born to Shine without pressing the brush against the nail surface. Before curing, place the magnet on the nail surface to achieve the desired effect. If necessary, adjust the particle position by moving the magnet over the nail surface. Once the desired effect is achieved, carefully remove the magnet and cure the design for 30 seconds in the MultiLed lamp.
  9. Apply a second coat of Born to Shine. Use the magnet again, arrange the particles in your desired pattern, and once you've achieved the desired effect, cure the design for 30 seconds in the MultiLed lamp.
  10. You can even out the cuticle area and side folds using the Master Nail Art brush 004 or 006.
  11. Secure the style with a top coat, e.g. Hugo Gloss or Anti Scratch, and place your hands under the lamp again for 30-60 seconds.
  12. Wait about 60 seconds for the top to cool.
  13. If you chose a top coat with a sticky layer*, remove it with a cotton pad soaked in Shea Super Shine Effect Cleaner.
  14. To add even more shine to your nails, you can finally buff them with a dry cotton pad.

* You don't need to wipe off a non-sticky top coat with Shea Super Shine Effect Cleaner. After waiting 1 minute, you can apply your chosen Shea Elixir with keratin to the nail folds.

PRO TIP

When applying the gel polish, don't press the brush from the bottle against the nail surface. Lightly glide the product across the nail – this will help the color settle and level out more evenly, without leaving unsightly streaks.

With Born to Shine, it's worth taking a moment to work with a magnet. Don't rush the curing process – while the product is still uncured, you can adjust the particle placement and find the best effect. Only when the luminous reflex is exactly where you want it should you place your hand in the lamp.
