Sunday on My Own combines a magnetic cat eye effect with light-reflecting flash particles. This allows the manicure's appearance to change with the lighting. In daylight, the deep burgundy and the luminous streak created by the magnet attract attention, while intense light further enhances the brilliance of the flash particles.

You also decide the final look of the cat eye. By moving the magnet over the uncured polish, you can control the particle distribution and build reflections exactly where you want them. Each change in light angle reveals another facet of this color.

How to get the cat eye effect?

The biggest advantage of magnetic polish is the ability to control the appearance of the particles before the product cures. After applying a layer of Sunday on My Own, hold the magnet close to the nail surface, without touching the polish. Move it over the nail plate until you achieve the desired focus and direction of the reflection.

You can create a classic, luminous streak reminiscent of a cat eye, or experiment with the magnet's positioning for a softer, diffused effect. Only when the particles are arranged the way you want should you cure the design in the lamp.

 

Application tips 

Wash and disinfect your hands and the client's. Put on gloves. Assess the condition of the client's hands and nails to ensure there are no contraindications to the procedure.

  1. Push back the cuticles with a hoof or stick and work them with cutters.
  2. Use a buffer to thoroughly matt the plate.
  3. Remove dust with a soft brush.
  4. Using a dust-free cotton swab and Cleaner No. 1, thoroughly degrease the plate.
  5. Apply the appropriate primer – Acid Free Primer or Acid Primer.
  6. Apply a thin layer of your chosen base and cure it for 30 seconds in the MultiLed lamp.
  7. Apply a second, thicker coat of base coat to gently even out the nail or build it up if necessary. You can even out the surface with a thin brush, such as Master Nail Art 007, or turn your hand over and use gravity to shape the upper arch of the nail. Cure the design again. With a thicker layer, you can extend the curing time to 60 seconds in a MultiLed lamp.
  8. Apply a thin layer of Sunday on My Own, without pressing the brush against the nail surface. Before curing, place the magnet on the nail surface and arrange the particles in the desired pattern. If necessary, adjust the effect by moving the magnet over the nail. Then cure for 30 seconds in the MultiLed lamp.
  9. Apply a second coat of polish. Use the magnet again to achieve the desired effect, then cure the design for 30 seconds in the MultiLed lamp.
  10. You can even out the cuticle area and side folds using the Master Nail Art brush 004 or 006.
  11. Secure the style with a top coat, e.g. Hugo Gloss or Anti Scratch, and cure for 30–60 seconds.
  12. Wait about 60 seconds for the top to cool.
  13. If you chose a top coat with a sticky layer*, remove it with a cotton pad soaked in Shea Super Shine Effect Cleaner.
  14. For an even more intense shine, you can finally buff your nails with a dry cotton pad.

* You don't need to wipe off a non-sticky top coat with Shea Super Shine Effect Cleaner. After waiting 1 minute, you can apply your chosen Shea Elixir with keratin to the nail folds.

PRO TIP

When applying the Gel Polish, don't press the brush from the bottle against the nail surface. Instead, move it lightly over the nail – this will help the color settle more evenly and evenly, without leaving streaks.

When creating a cat eye effect, remember to first refine the placement of the magnetic particles before placing your hand in the lamp. Until the polish has hardened, you can work with the magnet and adjust the position of the light reflection.
