Application tips 

Below you will find simple step-by-step instructions on how to use the Indigo Nails 4-in-1 Upper Forms:

  • work on the cuticles and prepare the nail plate with a buffer or file;
  • choose the size of the form – always choose a form one size larger than the one that fits perfectly to leave room for the product applied from the bottom of the form;
  • degrease your nails with cleaner;
  • apply individually tailored primer;
  • make a lotion with a base, e.g. a protein base;
  • Apply the selected gel to the upper form, depending on your preferences:
  • Mousse Gel – a gel combining the features of non-self-leveling gels, so-called jellies, and self-leveling gels;
  • non-self-leveling gel, e.g. Shape Genius – it is easier to spread the product inside the form, the gel consistency allows for smoother work, but it is a bit more difficult to obtain a nice underside of the nail (milling from the bottom);
  • self-leveling gel, e.g. No File Builder, which can be quickly spread over the mold, but due to the leveling formula it may flow from the edges of the mold to the center;
  • apply a thin layer of the same gel to the prepared plate, creating a so-called slip layer and do not harden it;
  • place the top form with a slight gap from the cuticles;
  • gently push the gel towards the free edge to distribute it evenly over the entire nail plate – do not press too hard, as the gel layer will be too thin;
  • Finally, gently push the form towards the cuticles;
  • you can use a UV flashlight to freeze the area around the cuticles;
  • hold the form in place and turn your hand over;
  • Use a brush to smooth out the underside of the nail – the gel must be evenly distributed and the surface should be even;
  • cure in the lamp for 60 seconds;
  • squeeze the top form gently by the tip, then start squeezing it slightly and rotating it until you hear a characteristic click;
  • the upper form will spring away from the nail, leaving only slight irregularities that can be filed down with a file;
  • any unevenness or thickness of the free edge should be refined with a milling cutter or mandrel with an abrasive pad;
  • clean with a wipe off cleaner;
  • Apply your chosen top coat and you're done!
